Wi-Fi I/O module's 14-channel relay output suits industrial monitoring, control systems

April 27, 2016
With a 2-channel Form A power relay output and a 12-channel Form C power relay output, the WFM-R14 module from ICP DAS USA can be used with other remote I/O and PLCs and SCADA systems.

ICP DAS USA has introduced its WFM-R14, a 14-channel relay output module with a metal case (RoHS) for stronger protection and more durable use. The WFM-R14 has a WLAN connection that complies with the IEEE 802.11b/g Wi-Fi standards.

The module is billed as an easy way to incorporate wireless connectivity into monitoring and control systems. The WFM-R14 also supports Modbus TCP and UDP protocols and network encryption configurations, which makes for seamless integration to SCADA software, and offers easy and safe access for users anytime and anywhere.

With a 2-channel Form A power relay output and a 12-channel Form C power relay output, the WFM-R14 can be used with other remote I/O and PLCs and SCADA systems. The module can be used to trigger alarms, fans, heaters and other relay output devices. It supports WEP, WPA and WPA2 wireless encryption, and DHCP network configuration. It also supports a pair connection mode, which allows it to be used in pair with another Wi-Fi I/O module to trigger outputs.
