Point-to-point wireless broadband access, backhaul platform targets utility providers
Cambium Networks has reportedly introduced a new point-to-point (PTP) wireless broadband access and backhaul offering to meet the rapidly changing connectivity demands of utility providers. The company's sub 6 GHz PTP 650 platform allows vast amounts of data to be reliably transmitted from densely populated areas to support AMI backbone connectivity. It can be used for smart grid migration, remote monitoring and control of SCADA systems, smart-meter backhaul, and network redundancy and disaster recovery. A best-in-class solution, the PTP 650 offers higher performance (up to 450 Mbps), global spectrum flexibility (4.9 6.05 GHz) and a reliable self-optimizing network (through Dynamic Spectrum Optimization, DSOTM, a Cambium-patented technology), all in a scalable device optimized for ease of deployment.
