Enterprise wireless LAN (WLAN) specialist Extricom has announced the release of its RP-32EOn, a three-radio 802.11n outdoor access point designed to deliver wireless connectivity to large public venues (LPVs) and other outdoor environments including stadiums, industrial areas, campuses and parking lots.
Deployed using Extricom's proprietary Channel Blanket architecture, the ruggedly designed RP-32EOn access point features three 802.11n dual-stream radios, each of which can be operated on the 2.4 GHz or the 5 GHz band. The RP-32EOn can be easily configured to handle most any WLAN scenario, says Extricom. Based on its unique three-radio scheme, the new AP can handle both iindoor and outdoor environments, or can be used to expand existing indoor deployments.

Each radio has a 2x2 MIMO external antenna configuration for an air rate of up to 300 Mbps in support of bandwidth-intensive applications requiring high wireless capacity, especially in outdoor locations. "Since Extricom has proven success in deploying wireless LAN solutions in several large public venues, we have gained considerable recognition for our technology and our ability to connect thousands of users in very challenging environments," says Gideon Rottem, Extricom CEO.
Rottem continues, "We consider the LPV sector to be an integral part of our core business and a major component in Extricom's growth. As we further our success in this vertical market, the addition of the RP-32EOn allows us to expand the LPV solution to additional outdoor deployments."
